President for life

To be, or not to be a brilliant genius of humanity
That is the question
Some are born great, some achieve greatness
Some have greatness thrust upon them

Great leader, Great leader!
Wherefore am I your Great leader?
What’s in a name?
A Gardener of Human Happiness by any name would govern as wise

How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless people!
Uneasy lies the head that wears the nation

Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas
Cry “havoc!” and let slip the dogs of war
To thine own guide be true

Earlier this month I stumbled upon a list_of_titles_used_by_dictators. I instantly knew I wanted to use them for a poem. Today’s prompt at was “to write a poem in which one or more flowers take on specific meanings.” It made me think of Shakespeare. Then Shakespeare quotes became the starting point for this poem. Where the names have specific meanings, though they are not flowers
